[I am accepting the fact that this (once again) may not be 'our time' and we may be here another year. In the meantime I am finding lots of ideas and projects on pinterest (thanks Laura!) to use to keep me happy here]
so as I was saying, our days have consisted of keeping busy and out of the house -- we have run errands and shopped (any excuse to have cool air), played at the playground and at the homes of friends, gone to the zoo (we lasted two hours - my kids have been begging to go and between the smoke and the heat they were ready to go about an hour after we got there), swam with friends, swam at Nana and Papa's (something we are trying to do every Thursday while Nana has her day off), gone shopping for plants & worked in the yard planting and watering them, played in the sprinklers, gone to Grammy & Grandaddy's for the day (my grandparents are unbelievable -- they picked up my kids and then my cousin's little girl, played with them in the sprinklers, drew on their driveway with sidewalk chalk, fed them lunch, played in their sand and water table, had a tea party and then brought them home...seriously, in the 99' heat and so-smoky-you-can-hardly-stand-it weather). Today we are heading to the farmer's market with friends.
And even better than the exciting news of glorious rain is the fact that tomorrow we welcome home my brother after two long years away in Iraq and Germany. He has never met Lauren as he left for Iraq the day after she was born.
We have so much planned for while he is here - a week at the beach, trips to Orlando, Busch Gardens and Islands of Adventure, and best of all -- just hanging out with him, feeling complete as our family is all in one place.
